What is it?

Intimate Partner Violence (also known as Domestic Abuse) is any use of physical or sexual force, actual or threatened in an intimate relationship (spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner etc), including emotional/psychological abuse or harassing behaviour.  It happens in all kinds of families, across all abilities ages, classes, ethnicities and sexual orientations.

Femicide is typically defined as the killing of one or more females, primarily by males, because they are female. It represents the extreme end of violence and discrimination against women and girls.
