Housing-related legal issues?

Paralegal Program

With generous support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, CCRC has recently introduced the Paralegal program, where a registered Paralegal assists clients who live with low income and face complex barriers to accessing services.

Please contact the Housing Resource Centre to determine your eligibility and/or receive a referral to other legal services.

The Paralegal Program provides the following services

  • Helping tenants understand leases and notices of termination of tenancy
  • Preparing legal documents
  • Providing legal information and advice about tenant rights
  • Empowering tenants to make informed decisions about their legal options
  • Negotiating and mediating settlements on behalf of tenants and co-op members
  • Helping tenants apply to the Landlord and Tenant Board
  • Preparing tenants and co-op members for hearings before the Landlord and Tenant Board
  • Providing legal representation on behalf of tenants and co-op members before the Landlord and Tenant Board

Please note that Paralegal Program services are available only to eligible tenants experiencing complex barriers to engaging with services. Contact the Housing Resource Centre to determine your eligibility and/or receive a referral to other legal services.
